Student loans and oomph
I've had serious complications with Citibank regarding my student loans. When I finally got it all settled and my consolidation application submitted and approved, they said I was on an in-school deferrment until June 2006. I dunno where they get their info from, and I fixed it once, but then it went back on an in-school deferrment for reasons unknown to me. I tried to fix it again, and it just wasn't happening. So I was like, "Yeah, okay...whatever you say." The deferrment ends this month. I just tried to make a payment online and it wasn't working out. Then I saw that my balance was more than twice what a monthly payment should be. So I called, and turns out my first payment isn't due until NEXT month. Bonus! That means I'll be able to get an Ipod Nano from Costco. (My much-beloved MP3 player randomly turns off and won't come back on at unpredictable times for varying lengths of time.) And now that I've had one, even for such a short time, I just can't go back. Know what I mean?
Part of me thinks I should set aside the money for the "money to spend when I visit the States in August/September" fund. But then I realize that if I don't buy the Ipod now, I'll just buy it in two weeks when I get paid. And I already have a set amount to set aside each month for the States trip, along with a set number of people to buy gifts for each month, so that I don't have to rush out and buy gifts for 30 people at one time. Aren't I so practical? (The real test will be to see if I actually DO it or not.)
And one other note...today Beth (Adam's wife, seen a few pictures below with her son and the monkey) brought in cookies for Adam and me (me and Adam? Adam and I?). They were peanut butter cookies (my favorite, AKA *heavenly*). Koreans don't appreciate peanut butter like North Americans do, and therefore she brought them just for Adam and I (since I don't know which one is really right, I'll alternate...it's almost like a game!). I then proceeded to hide the plate in the drawer of my desk so that I wouldn't have to share with anyone. They were *amazing*. Sometimes you just need a little oomph to get you through the day, and today was a day like that for me, and those cookies were the oomph.
Bless your heart...It's Adam and me. If you drop the proper noun Adam then the cookies will be for me. Remember?...And always name yourself last. Hugs, GA mom

You should feel free to name yourself when you please, even if it is a breach of decorum. I really prefer your flip flop method, it seems much more equitable and politcally correct.
And "I" is only ever used as the subject or when being compared with another noun in the subjective case (e.g "The orangutan is smarter than I" - how pretentious does that sound?), otherwise it should be "me".

Anyone else worried about my obvious lack of grammatical ability? Geez! Maybe I should go back and take an English class just to brush up.
And another confession, the whole lay/laid/whatever other form it could be confuses the mess out of me. I think those are my major grammatical stumbling blocks. To be honest, I feel a bit dense right now. On that note...I'm off to teach!

You know whats weird? I recently did the whole consolidation thing and they also put me on a 6 month deferment (did I spell that right?). Maybe its something they do. Beats me. I enjoy it though :) My mama says HELLO! She is on her way up to Virginia to see me right now. Love you girly!
ps- I got rid of my myspace. It was getting me into too much trouble and wasting too much of my time. Just wanted to let you know. Later!
